International Inventory, 2021
Virtual reality environment and video trailer, 3min.
Commissioned by the Transmedia Storytelling Initiative at MIT, curated by Caroline A. Jones.
International Inventory interrogates the issue of anonymity and the exploitation of it within special economic zones, by taking the form of digital-material research on the objects that shape international border economies of exception and exclusion. Certain international companies that currently have assemblage factories in Tijuana and Mexicali, such as Rockwell Collins, Bosch, Honeywell, Boeing, Sony, Kentworth, etc, publish their commercial products in the form of 3D downloadable materials on public, third-party websites. I downloaded these 3D assets, choreographed and rendered them inside a virtual reality space.
